Roadmap (proposed phases)

Part of the «Waze для рыбалки» wiki · Status: proposal, pending Phase 0
Related: Synthesis · Big questions

Phase 0 — Validation (now, July 2026)

Phase 1 — MVP with one hook (first ice, winter 2026/27)

Ice as the founding habit. Crowdsourced ice thickness/condition reports (no machine-readable source exists anywhere — instant unique value) + safety + base map of waterbodies and rules from open data. Browser/PWA, read without registration, one-tap report, LV+RU. Zero rival-goods risk: ice is not spots. Seasonal urgency is the crisis-substitute (gdebenz lesson).

Phase 2 — Bite as the second layer (spring–summer 2027)

On top of the ice habit: bite reports (coarse geo default), waterbody activity heatmap (k-anonymity threshold + delay), reputation + give-to-get, geo-verification as opt-in for weight/status. Conditions score on Latvian hydro data (transparent "why", no bite promises).

Phase 3 — Hub & partnerships

Deep links to Mana Cope · paid-pond directory + "notify owner" booking (~20 anchor venues) · negotiations: LLKC (licenses — single counterparty, biggest single point of failure), VVD ("report poacher" button while their Vides SOS modernization runs), BIOR/LVĢMC (anonymized catch+ice data as the carrot) · Baltic expansion designed in early (Estonia kalaluba.ee, Lithuania/Deeper).

Monetization posture

Community data free forever (Fishbrain's paywalled feed = most-hated move, our opening). Pay for: premium layers (forecast, depths, offline maps), license-sale partnership, B2G data.

Seasonality planning

Peaks: May–September + first ice (Dec–Jan). Troughs: spring spawning bans. 20–40k seasonally active users at maturity (market).
